This  patio of squared bluestone is supported by a fieldstone retaining wall. The wall  supports a raised planting bed filled with plants providing  shade and interest.

A patio made from brick or stone can provide a good alternative to a wood deck.

Patios

Here is wrap-around patio constructed from square, full-color bluestone. Granite curbing has been used as a retaining wall to change levels.
This patio was built using irregular bluestone and cut to fit in a jig saw puzzle fashion. Notice the attached arbor which we also built. It now supports a planting of Wisteria and provides welcome shade.

This is a formal herb garden/patio we built using red brick.

 Walks

This entrance combines several elements: Corinthian granite flagging, cobblestone edging, a  fieldstone retaining wall, and a granite front step.

Granite comes in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. We use it for steps, edging, and walks.

This granite walk has hidden edging. Perennials will soon grow over the edges to soften them.
